Nickname: "Emacs"
Real Name: Stefan Age: patch level 1 Resides: Montreal, Quebec Occupation: Emacs Champion
Favourite websites: http://www.perdu.com
Favourite application, game, and program of all time: Emacs
What are you playing and working on right now: Emacs
What is your current Wallpaper/Screensaver: A screenshot of me using Emacs.
What's so special about your computer room: I'm not sure, but my cat seems to like it, so it's probably warm & cozy and is close to the center of attention.
How many computers do you have: Between 1 and 4, depending how you count.
What was your first computer: Sharp MZ-700.
Do you remember the first program you ran on it: Damn sure, I remember. It took 3.5 minutes to load up the Basic interpreter off the tape from the boot loader.
Geekiest moment of your life: When I discovered, while rewriting some Modula-2 library for my Atari-ST, that a single 1-bit right shift was all that was needed to get a first approximation (~5% or so) of a square root to feed to a Newton-Raphson loop. I still feel a warm & fuzzy feeling when I think of that moment.
When did you first realize you were a geek: When I noticed I was only playing with geeks.
If I was a program I'd be: Umm...do you need to ask?
What do you do when you're not at your computer(s): Huh?
What is the funniest/most bizarre computer/Internet experience you have ever had: Computers are no laughing matter.

Stefan, who wants to promote the FSF, can whip up an Emacs major mode, complete with auto-indentation, in less time than it would take him to figure out how to use Skype. Stefan, who by the way claims to be an Emacs expert, hates it when people say that Emacs stands for: "Eight Megabytes And Constantly Swapping."
