|
Nickname: Gare Bear
Real Name: Gary Age: 2.7 x 10^1 Resides: Ohio Occupation: Student, IT Contractor
Favourite Website: World Wide Punks, Slashdot
Favourite Games Of All Time: Favorite games include Arkanoid (which I beat once in 45 minutes at the arcade) and Super Mario Bros 3.
What Are You Playing On Right Now: I'm working on getting a new job and I'm being overwhelmed with responses.
Current Wallpaper/Screensaver: Current screensaver is logon screensaver. Wallpaper is default.
How Many Computers Do You Have: I have one computer and a bunch of spare parts and incomplete systems.
What's So Special About Your Computer: It had a motherboard with a bad native IDE controller, it has a bad embedded Promise(R) Ultra100 controller and I'm using a Silicon Image RAID controller to compensate. Oh and it has a 700MHz Duron w/512MB PC100 SDRAM. I also have some cool Creative Labs speakers and a WWP stick on the front of the case.
When Did You First Realize You Were A Geek: Probably when I was younger. I remember watching Star Trek and reading encyclopedias.
Geekiest Moment: When I used Natan Linebacks' BSOD properties to change the color of the Blue Screen of Death. I changed it to purple with green text. Than and the time I installed Linux for the first time.
If I Was A Program I'd Be: An IDS.
Favourite Quote: "Your stupidity is terminal. Now you're cured." -- Bruce Campbell, Alien Apocolypse. "Hey, Mansquito!"

The Truth Behind The Geek (*creative liberties taken for the benefit of the reading audience)
Gary, who thinks that the theme song for Lexx "rules", likes math, especially logarithms and exponentials. Gary, who counts sheep in binary to help him sleep, scoffed at the movie Good Will Hunting, wondering why it took Wil (Matt Damon) so long to figure out the unsolved equation on the wall.
