Nickname: John
Real Name: John
Age: 31
Resides: San Diego, California
Occupation: Penetration Tester, Security Analyst, and writer for Advancedmn.com.
Favourite Website: I love them all equally, just in very different ways. Like how I love my wife one way which involves much hugging and kissing, and I love my children with much hugging and kissing - minus the naked bits that I use with my wife.
Favourite Game Of All Time: Ultima IV, which taught me that you can make a game about ethics
What Are You Playing And Working On Right Now: Final Fantasy Tactics, Lumines, Final Fantasy 1+2, Astro Boy (GBA), and developing a blog system that allows for the creation of class based PHP classes for simple extentions so I don't have to waste my time rewriting the whole damn system.
Current Wallpaper/Screensaver: A collection of around several thousand anime, game, and family photos that move through every 15 minutes. Right now, it's a look at how the Powerpuff Girls will look like at the age of 18.
How Many Computers Do You Have: Other then the consoles (new and old) and the iPod, there's the iBook, Powerbook, Mac Mini, Dell C600 running OpenBSD
Geekiest Moment: hen I called up congressmen to speak up for the Betamax decision and against altering copyrights to hold manufacturers responsible for copyright violations by the users. Or, it was when I offered my old hat as a contest for whomever could write the best Valentine's day poem regarding a game.
When Did You First Realize You Were A Geek: When I was four and my Dad brought home a Magnavox Odyssey. Sure, I played football and other sports, but in the end, I was a geek.
If I Was A Program I'd Be: A kernel, making sure that all the programs don't screw up the rest of the machine.
Favourite Quote: "This is just my opinion. I could be wrong."

The Truth Behind The Geek (*creative liberties taken for the benefit of the reading audience)
John, who hopes that we aren't all a bunch of "spam bates," writes tons of articles, and does his best to not always do the "geek" thing. John, believes that just because you're a geek doesn't mean that others get to leech off of your work and deny you the right to continue to invent and push the limits of human knowledge.
