Geek Of The Day: Litazia E-mail

Nickname: Litazia

Real Name: Liz
Age: The magic Weird Al number
Resides: Ottawa, Ontario

Occupation: Government Flunky

Favourite websites: Besides my own? That'd be Homestar Runner

Favourite application, game, and program of all time: Ugh... too many choices... for game, it'd be a tie between Sam and Max, and Nethack. For application/program, it'd be either Winamp or Photoshop.

What are you working on  right now: I'm trying to work my way through some Black Isle and Bioware games, in addition to anything I've got on GBA. Otherwise, I mostly work on a lot of comic-related stuff.

What is your current Wallpaper/Screensaver: My background's a wallpaper made for my comic... yeah, I'm boring that way. I don't have a screensaver set.

What does your mousepad look like: Marvin the Martian, ready to take on the world.

What's so special about your computer room: My computer's a frankenbeast! It's a bunch of parts cobbled together into something that works. It may not be top of the line, but it gets what I need to do done, and that's all that matters to me.

How many computers do you have: I have a Pentium 133 called Pengium, and a P3-933 called Crash (long story). I'm thinking that if I get a new computer, I'll have it in a black case, and it'll be called Kronos.

What was your first computer: A second-hand TRS-80 model 4.

Do you remember the first program you ran on it: Frogger! In frog (green/black) colors!

Geekiest moment of your life: The day I sung 272 digits of pi to Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik."
Wait, that's probably more dorky than geeky.

When did you first realize you were a geek:  When I realized that computers were far more interesting than 99% of the people I knew.

If I was a program I'd be: Adventure Game Studio. Niche market, but oh so very cool and useful.

Favourite quote: "That'd be greeeeeeeeeeeeeaaat." --Bill Lumbergh (Office Space)

What do you do when you're not at your computer(s): Draw, write, and hang out with my boyfriend.

You have a time machine that can only be used once. If you use it you won't come back. What date would you set it to, and what ONE thing would you take with you (not a computer): Probably go back 10-15 years to before the tech boom, and buy stocks for veritable songs. Then I'd sell them the days they hit their peaks. Time travelling doesn't count as insider trading, does it?...
I'd bring back a photo of Michael Jackson now, and see if I can scare people with it.

The Truth Behind The Geek
(*creative liberties taken for the benefit of the reading audience)
Liz, who has a webcomic! (you know you want to click it), has been known to check her email in her dreams. Liz, who once dreamed that she won a million dollars in a lottery, went to see a financial adviser the next morning to ask how she should invest it when she went back to sleep the next night.
