Favourite websites: uberdash.net
Favourite application, game, or program of all time: Space Quests!
What are you playing and working on right now:
This email...then some release of software, then I move jobs to go to Skype!
What is your current screensaver, background, or wallpaper: Some abstract self-design Photoshop thing.
What's so special about your computer room:
My girlfriend has hijacked it as her study now that she works from home!!!!
How many computers do you have: 5. two old desktops running linux. Thinkpad running XP. Xbox running chipped stuff (xboxmediacenter). A typewriter that still works perfectly
What was your first computer: ZX Spectrum.
Do you remember the first program you ran on it: Manic Miner
Geekiest moment of your life:
Oh dear... Ok. My friend and I got really stoned and invented the Keyboard Olympics. We took a keyboard, removed every key from it with a knife and then scattered then on the floor up-side-down. We then had "races" to see who could put it back together, in the correct order, the quickest. Sadly, I have to admit, he owns the world record - I shall die incomplete without breaking it.
When did you first realize you were a geek:
When I was about 3 years old and was fascinated by the escalater stop button.
Have you ever said anything geeky that someone else did not understand: I say "lol" a lot... and get odd looks for it. What is the funniest/most bizarre computer/Internet/geeky experience you have ever had: When Back Orifice came out many years ago, we trojaned this one chicks' computer (telling her it was a patch for Back Orifice!). Anyway, we recorded wav files pretending to be her computer, like this whole monologue on how her computer thought she was stupid and everything, and it was personalised with her first name - we then used Back Orifice to upload it over the net and play them through her speakers. Her brother said he laughed himself silly for weeks watching her freak out. God, that's lame isn't it?!
If I was a program I'd be:
The Stoned Virus. Why: Take a guess!?
What is your favourite quote:
“”
What do you do when you are (heaven forbid) not at your computer(s): Say what?
You have a time machine that can only be used once. If you use it you will not come back. What date would you set it to, and what ONE thing would you take with you (not a computer): 3020AD. A cyanide cap just in case.

Michael, who cancode about 10 languages really really badly, preaches that you should: "Use Skype and respect thy inner geek". Michael, who runs the site hipgeeks.net, once lectured HTML in the 90's. Michael affectionately remembers deleting command.com from his XT because it was taking up too much space on the 10MB hard drive.
