Favourite application, game, or program of all time: The Knoppix Live CD distribution!!!

What are you working on  right now: A  beowulf cluster of 15 nodes of Celeron 433/466's for which I have rewired the house, mains, to get enough AC Power!

What is your current Wallpaper/Screensaver: A 1,000 year old stone Norwegian church.

What does your mousepad look like: NONE! I use a Logitech Trackball!!!

What's so special about your computer room: A historical museum, everything from 386's to AMD XP's, in 30 running units, plus another 48, in pieces, are represented.

How many computers do you have: 78 and counting What types:IBM, Cyrix, Intel, AMD cpu's. Boards from
almost everybody!

What was your first computer: First real computer, in 1965, I worked on was a Univac 1050-II, two city blocks, by 3 city blocks, taking 1,000 folks to maintain and operate, for the USAF.  First HOME computer, in 1979, was the Heathkit H89 (Z80, 8 bit processor at 1.77 mhz clock speed, with dual 5.25 floppies). It ran Heath DOS and CP/M!

Do you remember the first program you ran on it: Lots of nifty games, like the precursor to Defender, with ASCII stick figures!

Geekiest moment of your life: Asked to refund my Sam's Club membership, for demo of Linux on the 'broken' display model, for business clients who were asked to try out, and purchase, their computers, ($100,000 worth!) at some "local Office chain Store"!

When did you first realize you were a geek:  When computers became more fun than model railroading.

Favourite quote: "To mess up a Microsoft box, you only need work on it; to mess up a Linux box, you really need to work at it!".

If I was a computer program I'd be: nmap

What do you do when you're not at your computer(s): 5 hours, each day, are spent sleeping. 2 hours is spent doing things to please my spouse, like chores, dining, and, on occasion, taking a shower.

You have a time machine that can only be used once. If you use it you won't come back. What date would you set it to, and what ONE thing would you take with you (not a computer): 1 million BC, and, I would take along the book "1001 homemade chemical formulas"

The Truth Behind The Geek
(*creative liberties taken for the benefit of the reading audience)

Patrick has just about given up doing Psychic Readings at the theme parks, but, he still avidly promotes Science of Mind, as an extension of creation, in an evolutionary mindset. And, he promotes http://counter.li.org as a country manager. Patrick also likes to repair and rebuild orphan computers left on the curb, for donation to kids, and their parents, churches, schools, running Debian Linux!
