Like many members of my family, I like to play games online. My mom is into slots and solitaire, while my dad spends a lot of his free time playing online poker, with his laptop on his lap, and the football game on in the background. I would get into online poker a little bit more if I knew more about the online poker rooms.
I suppose one way to find out more about the cool online poker sites would be to go to each one individually, download and install the poker software, create an account, and test it out, but that would be time consuming, and would probably take all the fun out of playing poker.
Or, I could go to a site like http://www.onlinepokerexperts.com/ and read up on the best poker sites online, saving myself some time, and learning what they have to say about these poker sites. It's not any different when I'm choosing to see a movie. I'd like to read a review or two first. And if I'm going to go out and buy a new car, I'd like to read what they have to say about that vehicle. |

It's not easy to buy for the geek who has everything, or doesn't quite have everything but will stand in line for hours waiting for it to come out (cell phones, video game consoles, and other "must-have" items) so you never get a chance to buy it for them anyways.
So what do you do to stay one step ahead of your gadget-crazed, all-consumed consumer electronics technophile? How do you stay in touch with the gadgets that are hot, new, and state-of-the-art? Why, you do your gadget research of course.
To buy for a geek, you have to think like a geek. So when you're looking for the latest gift gadgets, step outside the box, and go online (of course), and look to the Gift Gadget Gateway, a gadget resource site, full of news, reviews, and the latest product releases. |

First of all, I want to thank everyone who has participated in GOTD, and taken the time to fill out the geeky questionnaire. I appreciate that you are willing to play along with the site.
I've been busy working on maintaining the Empire, but I did manage to tweak the GOTD slightly, and I've added graphics, glorious graphics to the questionnaire to give it a little more flavor. They're just text graphics, and it took all of nine seconds using Corel Draw. |

I'm happy to report that our site is doing well, and I'm quite pleased with the responses and the submissions from all the great geeks from around the world. So far, we've published geeks from Iceland to Iran, England to Australia. I'm not sure how many corners of the globe that represents, but I'm impressed that there are geeks in every country.
What do YOU think of the site? I got an email the other day stating "most boring site on the Internet." I dunno; I've seen some other sites, including one where you just stare at a red dot. I can't think that our site would be the MOST BORING. And if it is, where's my award? |

I've been getting lots of emails of support from everyone, for which I say "thanks", and I am grateful that the site is doing well. We'd like to see our traffic numbers increase (don't we all), and I encourage everyone to link to us, or at least fire off an email to their friends.
We continue to get submissions for Geek Of The Day, and I encourage you to send yours in, or suggest a friend. It's not exactly a Grammy award for best new artist in a digital medium, but just for fun.
So far, we've had geeks from three corners of the globe, and I think that fourth corner is just waiting for the papers to get cleared.

Okay, so GOTD had it's first burp. The content management system allows me to postdate the Geeks Of The Day, and unfortunately, today's recipient was posted for April 8th.
We should be lucky. In some nations, they can't even afford an April 7th, and we're lucky to have all 30 days. |
